Phoenix Matteson was born and raised in Hillsboro Oregon. In 2015, she started teaching her first class. Since then, she has choreographed and taught at athletic clubs, various studios, and for Lost Nation college crew, sharing her love of dance with all ages.

She is currently studying at Brigham Young University in Idaho, majoring in dance with an emphasis in Dance Pedagogy.

In the last year and a half, she has danced back up for singer and songwriter Tiffany Houghton, performed at the World of Dance Showcase in Las Vegas with the Lost Tribe hip hop crew, and worked with other choreographers and dancers on various projects. She has also danced on the BYU-Idaho Collegiate team. 

She continues to expand her knowledge in many different styles of dance, and works hard to improve her teaching and choreographing.
